Prediabetes and Diabetes Reversal Programme

Prediabetes is the point at which the outcome is still genuinely changeable. Acting here is the highest-value thing you can do for your long-term health.

What counts as prediabetes

Prediabetes means blood sugar is above normal but below the diabetes threshold. It carries no symptoms in most people, which is exactly why it is missed.

  • Fasting glucose 100–125 mg/dL
  • Two-hour post-glucose value 140–199 mg/dL
  • HbA1c 5.7% – 6.4%

Why it matters now

A substantial proportion of people with untreated prediabetes progress to Type 2 diabetes within a few years. The damage to blood vessels, nerves and kidneys does not wait for the formal diagnosis — it begins during this phase.

The reverse is also true. Sustained weight reduction and activity at this stage return many people to normal glucose values without lifelong medication.

What a reversal programme actually involves

Reversal is not a product or a fixed package. It is a supervised process with measurable checkpoints, and it is only offered where the clinical picture makes it realistic.

  • Baseline assessment: HbA1c, fasting insulin where indicated, lipids, liver and thyroid
  • A calorie and carbohydrate structure built around your existing meals
  • A weight target with a defined timeline rather than a vague instruction to reduce
  • Progressive activity planning suited to your joints, heart and schedule
  • Periodic re-testing to confirm the direction of travel
  • Planned, gradual reduction of medication where the numbers support it

Frequently asked questions

Is diabetes reversal permanent?
Remission is maintained only as long as the changes that produced it are maintained. Weight regain typically brings the readings back. Continued monitoring is part of the plan, not an optional extra.
Can I stop my medicines on my own once sugars normalise?
No. Stopping abruptly, especially insulin or certain tablets, can be dangerous. Dose reduction is done in steps with testing in between.
How long before I see a change?
Fasting readings often improve within weeks of a genuine dietary change. HbA1c reflects three months, so the first meaningful re-test is usually at 12 weeks.
